The Immortal Love Bite

26 My Love Bites

"Marissa!" Glace barked. she scuttled to the garden and flapped her had as a gesture for me to stand. Alina's hands turned cold and her skin was bloodless. I squeezed her hand. At this minute, I had forgotten about Damen's secret.

"You are here bluffing with this-" Glace pointed her finger at Alina and continued.

"-This maid! Whoever you are get back to work, before I get the thought of firing you from your job and let you and your sister stave to death!" she spat.

Alina's body shook in fear, but she nodded her head and ran inside. Glace exhaled and rubbed her temple. I swallowed. Poor Alina.

"My apology, Glace. I will see myself in the house," I said.

"Oh, I hope you will be able to, but I have somewhere else for you to go to," she said, coldly. My hand froze. What is she up to?

"You will take your horse with you and head to the Wolan March in the forest and there lies one of my finest golden amulet. It's quite expensive and I want it back. I fell on my way home." She raised her eyebrow at me.

I have heard of the Wolan March and Damen warned me to never go there. It was dark, gloomy, tree branches that looked like claws waiting to grab you, one wrong step followed to death.

"But Damen-" She raided her hand for me to stop.

"I'm Damen's mother and i order you to get the amulet back tome and if you don't, I'm sure Damen won't be pleased with you," She let out a shrilling laugh. I didn't want to face the severe punishments. With a stifled sigh, I nodded. She smirked and step shifted to the left so that way I can pass.

Laura neighed when I approached. I tied the saddle around Laura and struggled to sit on her back. Two strong hands clasped my waist and pushed me over Laura's back. I was surprised. It was Damen. He was in a white shirt and blue jeans. He looked further more great than before. He eyes bore at me and I cleared my throat. He was a vampire, but I ignored it for now. He had stuffed his hands in his pockets.

"Marissa, I wasn't expecting you here," he frowned. I was in trouble.

"I- am going outside to the forest," I stammered.

"Going to the forest," he repeated.

"Why are you going?" he narrowed his eyes.

"I have nothing to do her for today, so I wanted a break. If it's ok with you," I quickly added. Damen smiled for the first time.

"Glad I came here before you took off. You can go, but not alone. The forest can be dangerous, where are you going to? he said

"I-" trailed off. I can't tell him. He will be angry.

"Where? " he commanded and the smile vanished.

"Wolan March," I bit my lip.

"Wolan March?!" he roared. With full force, he snatched my hands and pulled me off from Laura's back. He pushed me against the wall

"Why don't you ever listen to me?!" he raged.

"Damen... Please I'm just doing what Glace told me to do," I gasped.

"Glace? My mother, why did she tell you?" he frowned.

That;s what I want know. Why me? Is she trying to get rid of me? Whatever it is, she is not happy with my existence at her home. Damen stroked my cheek which was appalling since I awaited for a slap or worse

"Don't leave. Stay here with Laura," he spoke softly.

"Damen... I have to get your mother's amulet," I urged, but I wanted to stay more than anything else.

"Amulets can be replace, but you..." he stopped himself and bit his lip.

"I have to do this. I'm sorry Marissa," he said. He nuzzled his face in my neck and stopped. He kissed my neck for a minute and I felt his mouth open. I felt something sharp rip inside my flesh and my view blackened.
