The Midnight Ark

45 Second cheat?!

W-W-What is this?

Ark glanced at his status screen in order to check if he was hallucinating.

I-I-It really is 600 mana and 30 spirit...

(Dusk)... What the... why... how...

What was different, no, what created this change... we were talking... talking... souls... WAIT, I GOT IT!

Ark pulled out his cheap phone and opened the camera. He switched the camera to selfie mode and confirmed his suspicions.

My eyes are gold.

Ark's eyes had changed into a radiant gold color with a black circle surrounding his pupil without him knowing.

"Row five, second floor, the book "Mana and its Origins", page 14. Mana is a substance that is created by the soul. It is a solid, liquid, and gas while not being any of them. It is what makes life, life. It is what makes a soul."

(Dusk)... Yes. That seems plausible. If mana is generated from our souls, and when we use our soul oculus, we technically combine or share souls, however, because we have three different independent souls, they combine into triple the mana source.

"However, this seems to have no affect on elemental mana, only our mana reserves. It doesn't make sense? Are there three pure mana fountains now?"

(Dusk) no, There isn't. The amount of water in the fountain grew though...

"But why?"

"If you are going to ignore me then I'm going to go by myself."

"What?"

Ark woke up from his thoughts and saw a very disgruntled James with his arms crossed.

"I said-"

James sighed and proceeded to speak in an overly obnoxious manner.

"Do you wanna go hunting? I already asked the others and they said yes."

Ark pulled out his phone and saw that he had five hundred unread messages. Stupid group chat.

Ark put away his phone and shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm fine with that. However, I need to go get my bow and sword. Left it in the room."

"Ok, I need to do the same. Can we teleport there?"

"No, I don't want to be exhausted."

Ark's body started to distort as he cast a teleport spell.

"I THOUGHT WE WEREN'T GOING TO USE IT?"

Ark let out a laugh.

"Yes, WE aren't going to use it. Just me. I'll be waiting."

"WAIT ARK, THAT'S NOT FAIR-"

However it was too late. Ark had already teleported away.

Ark opened his eyes once more and saw that he was in his room.

"Open status."

"So an individual teleport doesn't use mana... but I definitely felt the drain of my mana? Maybe the mana on the status screen doesn't show the mana in elemental reserves?"

Ark stared at his screen before trying out random commands.

"Show all mana? Show elemental mana status? Show mana levels? Open mana details."

Score.

The transparent screen quickly changed and showed a different picture.

[Mana 200/200

Shadow 190/200

Fire 200/200

Soul 150/200

]

"Hmm so this means I can use individual teleport 20 times at least, and another 10 times if I use my mana reserves. It seems that every time I activate the soul oculus, it costs 50 soul mana but in turn boosts my mana reserves..."

Ark went towards his desk and picked up his sword.

"All of my mana capacities are maxed at 200 so 1 spirit Attribute equals 20 mana. Teleport is 10 mana, group teleport is over 100 mana. Why is there such a qualitative difference between the two? Dusk, add that to our list."

(Dusk) it's already done.

Ark slang his bow over his shoulder and picked up his quiver. He reached out for his knifes when he realized, they weren't there.

"Shit, did I misplace them? No way that could happen with my memory..."

Ark then realized that there were new additions to the house.

"HEY WOLF ONE AND WOLF TWO!"

A bark sounded from underneath Ark's bed as two adorable wolfs came out and shook their fur.

"Did you touch the daggers on my desk next to the black sword?"

The big wolf let out a defiant bark while the pup pawed the ground nervously.

Ark suspiciously glared at the pup.

"Where is it."

The pup refused to look Ark in the face.

"WHERE is it."

The puppy started to tremble as it took sneaky glances at Ark's sword.

Ark rolled his eyes.

"What do you mean? Are you saying that the blade at the daggers, swords can't eat daggers-"

Ark went pale as he swiveled his head towards the sword on his hip.

He happened to have a sword that could eat metal. And the daggers were made out of metal.

Ark drew his sword and felt the sharpness of the blade. The sword was still a dull black, however, Ark could see a small improvement in the color.

"Did you seriously eat the daggers?"

The sword let out a low hum as if expressing its dissatisfaction.

"Holy shit."

Ark could somehow understand the emotions that the sword had. The sword had expressed with his humming only one thing. It was hungry.

Ark took out an arrow and gave it to the blade, the blade immediately warped the space around it as the arrow was seemingly sucked into the blade, the shaft included.

"I thought that the sword could only eat metal? Can it eat wood too?"

Ark took off his bow and gave it too the sword. Still unsatisfied, the blade quickly devoured the bow before once again humming its dissent.

"Ahhh, I have another glutton? I don't think I can handle this, no, I don't think my wallet can handle this."

The wolf put its head down and whimpered while the blade started to hum louder.

Exasperated, Ark told the sword off. Or at least, tried to.

"Hey, be quiet. You already had some daggers and some arrows, even a bow. I have nothing to give you anymore."

However, The blade refused to accept the answer as it hummed even louder.

"I said, shut up, I don't have anything to-"

The sword rapidly expanded and shot towards Ark's neck. Surprised, Ark leapt backwards but the blade stopped short of piercing his throat before sneaking down his chest. It took Ark a moment to realize what it was doing.

"AHHHHH, THATS MY FUCKING PENDANT! DON'T EAT IT YOU SELFISH PRICK!"

But it was already to late. The sword had already fused with the pendant, causing it to disappear forever. The sword immediately looked as if it shed and had a dim luster to the black, kind of ironic.

Of course, Ark didn't give a damn about that.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH! THAT WAS MY ONLY KEEPSAKE FROM MY PARENTS! IMMA FUCKING DESTROY YOU!"

The sword let out a violent hum as if offended.

"DON'T YOU SASS ME YOU STUPID BLADE! I'M NOT GOING TO DEAL-"

Ark froze and watched the sword let out an anger hum and shrink. When the sword had stopped shrinking, the sword had become a white pendant.

"..."

(Dusk)... What the hell?

Ark suspiciously picked up the pendant that looked identical to the one he had originally. His brain started to work quickly as Ark stared at the pendant.

"Can you turn into a dagger?"

The pendant morphed into a beautiful black dagger with white stripes. Best of all, it was sharp.

"How about an arrow?"

The dagger morphed into an elegant black arrow that had a black head and white shaft.

"... surely not even a bow?"

The arrow grew in size as it took the form of a black bow made of metal. The string was white but was also made of metal.

"..."

Holy shit.

Ark did countless amounts of calculations and finally came up with an answer.

I have obtained my second cheat.
