The Assassin’s Enemy Lover

Chapter 268

268 Unexpected betrayal Zi Han opened his mouth to speak but when he heard the loud screeches behind him he paused. “It’s clear. Let’s light them up,” he said as he picked up speed heading to where Yi Chen was.

Meanwhile, Yi Chen’s gaze shifted towards that same girl from before who was lying unconscious with her head resting on a boulder. One might ask why the fuck she was here?

Let me enlighten you. Yi Chen had at some point gained the advantage and was about to kill the female when she showed up and blocked his path.

Startled Yi Chen deflected his offense in time and this action was purely reflexive. The priority of the military was life conservation. It was because of this that he didn’t think clearly.

Why would she stand in front of a creature that had obviously terrorized her and her people? The answer was simple. The grey haired boy wasn’t the only person the Republic sent to ensure the success of their plans.

The boy was responsible for acquiring confidential documents and she was responsible for the deadly phantoms. She was there to ensure that they would give birth to more deadly phantoms and thus the blood bath would ensue.

This is why she intentionally revealed herself to the creatures before. The screaming and running into Zi Han were all intentional but who would have thought that all her efforts would account for nothing?

Instead of going with Hela, she slipped away, and when she saw that the plan was about to be foiled she rushed in front of the creature taking advantage of Yi Chen’s sense of duty.

Yi Chen might have been able to deflect the attack but she was hit by flying debris and thus knocked unconscious. Her plan did work because the female was already offloading demon babies that were tearing at its abdomen.

.....

After shaking off the gooey substance the newborn creatures noticed the mech and their eyes brightened thinking of food.

They struggled to fly over and began to chomp down at the mech parts. But it seemed they didn’t like the taste thus they began to wail like newborns almost making Yi Chen’s ears bleed.

The ginormous deadly phantom screeched in displeasure its actions turning even more violent as it began to strike the mech and shatter the glass.

If they don’t eat these bloodthirsty younglings would die from all the crying thus feeding them was a priority. As their numbers reached fifty the situation turned more chaotic with the cries getting louder and louder.

The girl who was lying unconscious also woke up from the noise. She sheepishly opened her eyes and saw some of the wailing younglings struggling to fly over to her. She was happy that she had achieved her goal but recalling her mother waiting for her at home she tried to look for the deterrent agent they gave to her for a situation like this.

When sprayed on the body the deadly phantoms would be disgusted by the smell and refrain from eating her. As they drew nearer and nearer she began to panic frisking her entire body. Just as she fell in despair she spotted the spray can a few feet from her. It must have fallen when she got struck by the debris.

With the blood from the injury on her forehead partially affecting her vision, she crawled over and grabbed the spray can. But just as she brushed it with her fingers she was dragged back as one of the younglings bit her clothes. A second one bit through her flesh and she cried out but she continued stretching out her hand trying to reach the spray can.

With a strong powerful kick, she struck the younglings gnawing at her feet. Crying out in pain she reached out with everything in her and grabbed the can before hurriedly spraying it on herself.

The younglings fled away like they had smelt something bad and returned to the mech scuffling with the deadly phantom. It was at this time that Zi Han reached the cave summoning Igneous. This mech was indeed deserving of being one of the three calamities. Even when in disguise it was still so majestic insighting fear and admiration to anyone who saw it.

Igneous grabbed the deadly phantom by the back of its neck and flung it in the direction of the female. Unable to stop its momentum the deadly phantom crashed on top of the female still birthing younglings. It only managed to scatter into multiple deadly phantoms but the female was still hurt with some of the younglings getting seriously injured.

Zi Han stretched out his hand and helped Yi Chen up while asking, “What is she doing here?”

Yi Chen glanced over at the girl who was curled up seeming so pitiful and a look of disgust showed on his face.

“She is a part of this. She must have something on her preventing these creatures from finishing her off,” he said feeling rather stupid for getting played.

Zi Han bit the inner lining of his cheek before saying, “Iggy, do you notice any discrepancies on her person?”

“Yes sir, she has an aerosolized version of the flower named Cayoss in the Republic. According to the records left by your father, it repels deadly phantoms,” explained Igneous as an image floated in front of Zi Han.

Zi Han sneered as he raised the mech arms and fired an electric cage enclosing her in place. “I will personally deal with her later,” said Zi Han before turning his attention to the infuriated deadly phantoms that had broken off into two.

Using a magnetic pulse Yi Chen, drew the spray can towards him and no matter how hard the girl struggled to keep it she still couldn’t win. In fact, she got electrocuted and instantly passed out again.

Yi Chen squeezed the can in his mech arm and the liquid flowed out. He reached out and smear the liquid in Zi Han’s mech that is on Igneous’ chest.

“You can not stop being a pervert can’t you?” said Zi Han as he looked down at the mech hand that was rubbing all over him.

“What? It is more effective this way,” replied Yi Chen.

“Then wouldn’t it be more effective if you rub it directly on me?” said Zi Han with a slight quirk at the corner of his lips.

“Sir!” exclaimed Igneous. It seemed it wasn’t only its previous master that was flirtatious. His offspring was far worse than him.
