Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 448

448 Casting the strongest Ice Lance in the world

“We managed to do it in one go. All that time spent bracing impact and comprehending the structure and mana of Maria’s Ice Lance wasn’t in vain.” Vincent was thrilled. He now had the first offensive and elemental spell in his arsenal. Spells that used Soul Power instead of mana.

[Remember to keep calm, Vincent. Keep your eyes on the enemy. We do not know the accuracy rate nor if it has the same power as Maria’s spell.]

Vincent understood how time only allowed for one shot to be fired. If it was possible to shoot multiple spells at the same time was a luxurious test he didn’t want to do.

Vincent stood up and said with a determined gaze, “You are right.” He closed his eyes, and the next time they opened, the large boar about five meters away reappeared.

As his consciousness of a frozen-slow time adjusted back to the original living speed, Vincent comprehended his surroundings and accurately guessed the distance the spell needed to travel.

*Sigh* Vincent exhaled a puff of green steam, and his eyes locked on the large boar. He extended his arm and said, “Soul Power Ice Lance.”

.....

The green steam produced from his gauntlets and breath rapidly gathered in front of his hand as if the spell produced suction. The temperature lowered in the blink of an eye, and a jewel-like fragment materialized quicker than a gulp.

The jewel-like fragment of green ice was being produced from the mutated green steam in a matter of seconds. The green ice grew until it stopped at exactly one meter in length and a thickness of five inches in diameter.

The green icicle made from Ice Lance looked far more potent with far more piercing might than Maria’s Ice Lance.

Vincent and Kazumi were surprised to see a green icicle hovering in front of his hand. On the other hand, Melissa believed her head was hit too hard, and her eyes were seeing questionable things.

Vincent stopped being amazed and focused on the situation at hand. He commanded the icicle to shoot with his thought, and it worked on the first try.

The large boar felt the imminent threat the moment the icicle was shot. It lept towards Vincent and covered more distance than an ordinary Great Yok Boar would because of its lesser weight.

The green icicle landed in the middle of the boar’s forehead without much resistance from the frail bones. It was an instantaneous death. However, the large boar’s body was still in mid-air, and it was nearing Vincent’s location quickly.

Vincent had to do something promptly as the plan both succeeded and failed. The distance was too close to do many things. The options lessened by the second.

[How much strength do you have left? Can you push or punch the boar to the side? If not, then grab Melissa and move out of the way however you can.]

Only one more boar remained. One enemy to call it a day. Vincent felt his adrenaline pumping and the tiredness of mana fatigue wane. He clenched his fist tightly and lept at the incoming large unicorn boar.

Vincent threw a punch with all the strength he had to push the boar’s body to the side. The punch hit the flesh at first, but it later grazed the mutated ice as the swing kept moving.

*Clink* A spark suddenly appeared to anyone’s surprise, and the ice suddenly caught on fire like a beam of flame.

Vincent felt a chill rush down his spine and his arms raised by instinct. As if his survival instinct felt the need to block something suddenly.

As Vincent’s survival instinct guessed, the ice created from condensed mutated steam exploded into a burst of intense green flame a moment later.

From cold to hot, from Ice Lance to Explosion Lance. The boar was set on fire, and the blast knocked the burning boar further away to the side.

*Thud* The blast knocked Vincent to the ground a bit farter than Melissa. He raised his gaze and sighed in relief that the boar’s corpse torched ablaze by an intense green flame didn’t land near a tree.

Unlike the other parts of the forest Vincent visited, the area wasn’t too clustered with trees. As if this was the perfect place to have an unfateful encounter with multiple Great Yok Boars.

‘Vincent is old. That’s why he is strong. But how can he create ice and fire without a scroll?... This is a dream... no! This must be a dream. How can this happen if it was real?’ Melissa concluded that what was happening was a dream since nothing was making sense in her eyes anymore.

The man Melissa challenged. The mad she tried to show how much better she was than him because he took all the attention away from her easily killed a weakened Great Yok Boar with one hand.

historical

However, that wasn’t the end. He proceeded to use ice magic, a spell exclusive to Advanced Mages, and killed the second Great Yok Boar in less than ten seconds.

Nope. That wasn’t all. The man ended up breaking the wall of her reality when she saw his ordinarily looking punch set the large boar on fire.

Once again, that wasn’t all. An intense explosion happened, and the boar’s body was lit ablaze with an intense green flame. The flame extinguished after a few seconds, yet it was as devastating as if an ordinary flame burnt for ten times or lengthier.

On the other hand, Vincent and Kazumi couldn’t believe the outcome. Both questioned if his Ice Lance was different. Or if it was different because it was made from the steam of his mutated blood.

Vincent looked at his hands and noticed how his gauntlets didn’t catch on fire. They only looked cracked and damaged from blocking the blast.

Kazumi began to ponder if the gauntlets were highly resistant to fire produced by his mutation. As if both gauntlet and fire were resistant to each other since they were of the same origin. Only their form was different.

However, there was a time when Vincent set the gauntlets on fire in Aero Forest. So Kazumi made a wild assumption that the gauntlets might be able to follow Vincent’s desire somehow. As if they can catch on fire by a lighting source when they desired.

In other words, Kazumi had a lot to think about in her free time because of the mystery revolving around the mutation inside Vincent’s body.

[Vincent... Do you have juice left in you?]

“Why?” Vincent asked.

Moving a lot while suffering from the strain caused by mana fatigue drained the last of his stamina. Taking the blast head on made it more strenuous to stand up.

[A third boney Great Yok Boar is plowing the ground with its hoofs.]

Vincent moved his gaze and saw the third large boar. It blew hot air from its nostrils and charged toward them like a mad bull.

“I have no other way but to cast another spell. My body feels tired after losing control and using too much mana at once.”

Vincent raised his hand and focused on the target. He had nine more shots to fire, and the boar was much farther away than the second large boar.

“Melissa. This is going to cost you a lot of favors.” Vincent said before casting Ice Lance twice at the same time.

Two green ice fragments accumulated above his shoulder. Two one-meter long, highly flammable icicles formed after they sucked all the mutated green steam leaving his body.

Two Exploding Ice Lance was ready to be fired. Vincent shot the icicles in delay. The first one missed the target and landed on the shoulder. The second icicle hit the tusks, and its direction was altered.

However, not all was lost. As if the ice was as hard as a rock, the collision between the second icicle and the fragments that broke off generated a spark. The two icicles caught on fire and exploded in the blink of an eye.

Even if both Ice Lance spells missed and didn’t kill the Great Yok Boar, the explosion obliterated the boar instantly.

[Vincent!]

“What! Are there more?” Vincent was at wit’s end. If the Great Yok Boars were going to appear one after the other out of thin air, he didn’t have much Soul Power left.

[Sorry. I was surprised. It’s not a boar. It is Ollie.]

“Ollie?” Vincent questioned. He moved his gaze and saw Ollie running toward him in the distance. Seeing such a familiar face made his legs go weak and fall on his bum. After there were no signs of danger, he stopped using Overheat.

“Vincent! I have been looking for you and Lady Melissa. I followed the loud explosions after saving your elf teammate and three noble teens near her.” Ollie said. He looked around and saw the corpses of three Great Yok Boars on the ground.

“Looks like you had a difficult fight. ” Ollie swung his blade, and the fresh blood splattered on the ground. “The two I fought were strangely thin, and I don’t think that had real bones in them. My blade cut them like butter.”

Melissa saw Ollie. She was frightened at first, but she recognized who he was after taking a good look with her hazy eyesight. “Are my teammates safe?” She asked.
